Tracking for the Cure – July 11, 2008.  The Checkered flag was pink, the drivers donated and drove, the riders got hooked, and in the end, the organizers even got married at the track. So went Hooked On Driving’s event, called “Tracking for the Cure – One Lap at a Time” benefiting the Susan G. Komen fund for the cure of breast cancer. Held on July 11th at Thunderhill Raceway in Willows, CA, some are saying that this event was the first of its kind.  Here’s what the result of the day was: $25,000 contributed to the SGK Fund, 80 drivers paid to drive their cars on this world-class 3.0 mile road course One driver’s group was all women, first-timers on the track – 22 of them! Hooked On Driving coaches donated “double-duty” efforts with two beginner groups on track during the day. Enthusiastic guests and participants paid $50 for a ride in an exotic, special, and race cars on track. And if that wasn’t enough fun, there were very successful silent and live auctions held during the day that provided a large portion of the proceeds. Hooked On Driving donated all net proceeds.

Participants and guests were able to peruse and access services from sponsors Washington Mutual, BRracing, Suspension Performance, Yokohama/ADVAN Tire, Got Blue MilkPhotography, Clear Armor, Capital Glass, and NorCal Beverage.

BRracing was not only a key sponsor of this great event, we had nearly 25% of the participants in the event.  From our customers, to our whole team…we had cars and drivers in all groups, and at all levels of experience.  BRracing is committed to making the experience of owning and driving a performance car all that it can be

A sample of the BRracing customer and team cars we had there were:  MINI’s, E30s, E30 M3s, E30 w the Euro E36 motor transplant, E36 M3s, E46 M3’s, Edwin Yang’s E46 Supercharged and Intercooled M3, the new BRracing 135i w the brand new Ground Control coil-over suspension system (first of its kind for BMW 135i’s), plus our E36 M3 full race car.

The BRracing E36 M3 race car was also selected to be one of the “donation ride” cars… and guests were taken for the ride of their life on the exciting Thunderhill course.
